In 2012, Fast Machine began work on a 9 song debut LP, but it was never completed. The project was originally established specifically to allow Gary to dabble in electric guitar (rhythm parts only) and sing lead. Their final single, "Exhale", was released in 2014, but the group disbanded shortly thereafter. The recordings were then put on the back-burner for years.

The songs now fall under the Gary Brandon - Learning to Fly album title. The first single "Stand" was released in August of 2023. The second single "Learning to Fly" was released in September of 2024. This second song is referred to as "Untitled 9" in the band's 2012 "Making the Album" VLOG on YouTube.
